Autism EDU 969 Technology and Students with Autism

Eduspire’s courses are offered by Wilson College as individual 3-credit graduate-level courses, and most courses can also be taken as part of the Master of Educational Technology (MET) degree program.

This course will research appropriate technology for students with Autism in the classroom. It directs participants in exploring technology tools that are the most suitable to support students with Autism. It provides instruction and practice utilizing a variety of tools, and how to monitor and modify instruction for student success.

This course will research and define appropriate technology for students with Autism and how to appropriately implement technology in the classroom for these students. It will also explore how technology can help students with Autism follow routines, self-manage, verbally express, socialize, show understanding and knowledge of the material, and demonstrate productivity. Instructors will learn how to to deliver instruction in a meaningful and beneficial way through the choice and evaluation of the technology, student performance monitoring, appropriate scaffolding , and the modification of instruction to ensure student success.

*Participants in this course will have several mandatory, synchronous, video conference sessions. The dates and times are listed on each course registration page.
