The AI Endorsement (AIE) can be obtained through Wilson College by Pennsylvania educators along with a Master of Educational Technology degree or as a standalone endorsement. The Wilson College/PDE AI Endorsement is a 12-credit "micro-credential" designed to prepare educators to ethically integrate AI technologies.
Three Wilson College courses developed in partnership with Eduspire and one capstone course offered directly through Wilson College are required to earn the AI Endorsement:
EDU 975: Navigating Future Learning Through AI
This course is designed for educators who want to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into their teaching practice. The course will provide an overview of AI and its educational applications, including personalized learning, assessment, and classroom management. Participants will learn how to design and implement AI-driven activities and projects that promote student engagement and learning. Register
EDU 977: Leveraging AI for Effective Teaching
Equip educators with practical strategies to integrate AI tools that enhance student engagement, streamline management, and support personalized learning. Explore AI-driven resources for content creation, assessment, and support, gaining hands-on experience to transform their teaching practices. Register
EDU 978: AI Ethics, Policy & Data for Educators
Prepares educators to navigate the ethical, policy, and practical challenges of generative AI in schools. Participants evaluate long-term impacts, interpret AI-generated data, review policies for fairness and privacy, design professional learning, and build cross-curricular AI literacy for workforce readiness through human/AI collaboration. EDU 597: Capstone/Practicum (through Wilson College)
A field-based capstone for candidates pursuing the PDE Instructional Technology Specialist certification or the PDE Artificial Intelligence Endorsement. Candidates apply program competencies through supervised practicum experiences in PK–12 settings, demonstrating leadership in the ethical, effective, and innovative use of technology and AI for teaching, learning, and professional growth. Students are required to complete ten hours of field experience per course related to their AI Endorsement courses to receive an AI Endorsement.
If you’re interested in obtaining the AIE along with the Master of Educational Technology degree, four additional Wilson College courses developed in collaboration with Eduspire and two Wilson College capstone courses are required.
