Advanced Chromebooks EDU 972 Advanced Integration of Chromebooks

Eduspire’s courses are offered by Wilson College as individual 3-credit graduate-level courses, and most courses can also be taken as part of the Master of Educational Technology (MET) degree program.

This course builds upon the knowledge and experiences of everyday Chromebook use. Learners will explore advanced features of Chromebooks and will use Google Workspace for Education to create instructional content including tech tools, strategies, and best practices for using Chromebooks in the classroom including hybrid and remote learning. 

This course investigates topics related to a Chromebook-based environment including Google Classroom, Drive, Meet, Chrome apps and extensions, accessibility settings. Learners will explore best practices and strategies for teaching and learning with Chromebooks including hybrid and remote learning and will utilize social media to find useful resources.

NOTE: A prerequisite of "EDU 963: Chromebooks in Education" or prior approval from instructor is required.

*Participants in this course will have a mandatory, synchronous, video conference session. The date and time are listed on each course registration page.

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Create instructional content using Google Workspace for Education, Chrome apps, Chrome extensions, and other tech tools that are compatible with Chromebooks. 
  • Explore and implement best practices and effective strategies for teaching and learning with Chromebooks including hybrid and remote learning.
  • Utilize a Chromebook to explore artificial intelligence (AI) resources for teachers and students and to create instructional activities and content using AI.
  • Explore and customize Chromebook settings including accessibility settings. 
  • Utilize social media to find useful resources, tech tools, and ideas.
