EDU 901 Tech Integration
Focuses on foundational elements of technology integration, including understanding the SAMR Model of Technology Integration and its application to lesson development, using digital tools for enhanced communication with parents and students, building a personal learning network, curating resources for direct instruction, using collaboration tools, using an online “home base,” and differentiating instruction using current tools.
How are you making the move to 21st Century Teaching? Do you want to increase your grasp on technology? Do you want to learn more about what can be done now that we could not do before? Do you want to more intuitively mine online resources to engage more deeply with your students and your content? Continuously evolving Web 2.0 resources and ever expanding online access open up completely new possibilities in teaching.
This course will guide you expertly through some major topics in this transition. You will increase your confidence, avoid pitfalls and speed bumps, and make great strides forward in your skillful integration of technology in your lessons. This course provides the much needed foundation to begin implementing 21st century skills in the classroom. Topics like the SAMR Model of technology integration, communicating with parents/students, personal learning networks, curation of resources, screencasting, Google Apps for Education, classroom home bases, personalized learning, differentiation, and web 2.0 resources will be explored and discussed.
