iPads in Education II
Building off the practical skills developed in iPads in Education, this course focuses on the collaborative application of iPad tools and apps to enhance delivery of instruction and curriculum, including but not limited to screencasting, greenscreens, timeline and mind-mapping, and iTunesU.
This intensive follow-up course is designed for instructors who have taken our Level 1 course or who are familiar with the use of iPads in the classroom.
This course will introduce more apps and will be primarily structured around lessons which use the iPad both for content understanding as well as for assessment. Course-takers will participate in example lessons for elementary, middle, and high school subjects (as applicable) using a variety of apps and resources. Participants will also build projects using resources from multiple apps, and will experience various ways to handle the workflow.
In this course, participants will gain deeper knowledge of relevant new apps and learn how to use current apps in collaborative ways. Among the new tools discussed will be greenscreen apps, powerful screencasting apps, timeline and mindmapping apps, iTunesU, and more. The focus will always be on learning and will be referenced to the SAMR model.
NOTE: The iPads in Education course is a prerequisite for taking the iPads in Education 2 course. Exceptions must be approved in advance.
Participants in the online version of the course will have several mandatory, synchronous video conference sessions. The dates and times are listed on each course registration page.
