Science

I am currently a science teacher at Hanover High School in Hanover Public School District. Around 6 years ago I became very interested in educational technology and became part of the Classrooms for the Future program. Since then I have played an integral part in working with my district to establish a BYOD policy and move to a one to one environment with Google Chromebooks. Educational technology should not be used as a shiny object to keep our students interested while we attempt to fool them into learning content like a magician performing card tricks. Rather, we need to be continually asking ourselves, what can we do now that we could not do before? I believe the quick answer is that we now have the ability to differentiate in ways not previously possible, personalize learning to every student, and provide students continual access to our courses and beyond. I began teaching for Eduspire in the very beginning and I am currently a member of Eduspire’s core team. The ability to explore how technology can transform the classroom with teachers from all levels and subjects has been amazing. My experience with Eduspire has been one of the greatest times of personal learning and growth during my career. Mainly due to the dedicated and talented educators with whom I have the opportunity to collaborate and connect. As an instructor for Eduspire it is my hope to implement the knowledge and experiences gained and pay them forward to the educators that participate in my courses.
