Health Education EDU 953

Tech Innovation for Health and Physical Education

Eduspire’s courses are offered by Wilson College as individual 3-credit graduate-level courses, and most courses can also be taken as part of the Master of Educational Technology (MET) degree program.

This course will examine the use and function of integrative technology in the health and physical education classroom. We will explore current trends in educational technology and focus on the implementation of technology as it aligns with the standards set forth by the Best Practices document published by SHAPE America.

This course, designed for health and physical education teachers, will provide participants the opportunity to analyze their own classroom environment, identify effective curriculum, and increase the use of proven pedagogy strategies. Participants will create formative and summative assessments, increase their advocacy efforts and professional development practices, and compare and contrast them to the Best Practices document published by SHAPE America (Society of Health and Physical Educators). The course will pay special attention to infusing technology into the classroom so that teachers can provide more student-centered health education practices.

This course was previously titled "Health Education for 21st Century Learners"

*Participants in this course will have mandatory, synchronous, video conference sessions. The dates and times are listed on each course registration page.
