Digital Storytelling

EDU 931

Eduspire’s courses are offered by Wilson College as graduate-level courses, and most courses can also be taken as part of the Master of Educational Technology (MET) degree program.

This course will research and define digital storytelling and its application to the classroom. It presents technology tools for compliance with and integration of PA Core Technology Standards into the curriculum. The course provides instruction and practice in the creation of digital storytelling projects.

[Formerly titled Using Digital Storytelling to Develop PA Core Standards.]

“I think storytelling is all about children. We human beings love to hear stories being told - and it first happens when you're a kid.” quips David Chase an American writer, director and television producer. Ask a student to tell you about something they experienced and they will tell you a story. Storytelling has been used throughout time as a method to to convey truths, traditions, morality, fiction, and facts. In this course you will explore, evaluate, and apply the use of digital apps and storytelling tools to engage your students in your curriculum. “Tell me the facts and I’ll learn. Tell me the truth and I’ll believe. But tell me a story and it will live in my heart forever.” An old Native American proverb.
