EDU 906 Deeper Questioning Through Inquiry
Inquiry learning is an effective, engaging, and relevant way to tackle the rigor and depth requirements of the new Common Core Standards. In this course, educators will participate in a community of inquiry to explore and co-create knowledge about the subject, practice methods, and build curriculum to implement inquiry learning with students.
Inquiry learning is a term often bantered about in educational circles, touted as being one of the most authentic pedagogical methods. How can you approach inquiry learning with students if you are a practicing teacher who has never had the opportunity to experience inquiry learning yourself? In this course, directed at teachers of all subjects in grades K-12, you will become part of a community of inquiry, exploring and co-creating knowledge about the subject, trying out methods, and then building lesson plans to implement inquiry learning with your students.
