[Formerly titled Guiding Students in Gathering and Visualizing Data.]
What kinds of houses are in my neighborhood? What weird words and phrases do my classmates say? Where does my lunch come from? Although “data” can sometimes be an intimidating word, in fact, the collection, analysis, and visualization of data can both inspire students and lead them through highly authentic classroom and community activities. This course will guide teachers in the creation of motivating and productive activities where students collect and analyze their own data, and then build both accurate and creative infographics to express their analyses. This class requires that participants have access to a Google Drive account.
