EDU 953 Health Education for 21st Century Learners
Examines the use and function of integrative technology in the middle and high school health and physical education classroom. Explores current trends in educational technology and focuses on the implementation of technology in alignment with the standards set forth by the Best Practices document published by SHAPE America.
This course, designed for middle and high school health and physical education teachers, will provide participants the opportunity to analyze their own classroom environment, identify effective curriculum, and increase the use of proven pedagogy strategies. Participants will create formative and summative assessments, increase their advocacy efforts and professional development practices, and compare and contrast them to the Best Practices document published by SHAPE America (Society of Health and Physical Educators). The course will pay special attention to infusing technology into the classroom so that teachers can provide more student-centered health education practices.
