EDU 932

Eduspire’s courses are offered by Wilson College as graduate-level courses, and most courses can also be taken as part of the Master of Educational Technology (MET) degree program.

This course will appraise the impact of ePublishing on learning communication and information transfer. Identify and examine the capabilities of ebook formats, understand the visualization of data and gain an understanding of copyright and publishing issues.

ePublishing covers a broad range of free resources for accessing and creating eBooks. Instruction in eBook resources and authoring tools will be provided.

Determining which tools are appropriate for use in the classroom will depend on an analysis of the target audience and its comfort level with varying degrees of multimedia content.

Participants will first examine eBook formats and the impact of interactive eBooks on learning, then concentrate on locating and sharing eBooks of various genres (i.e., fiction, non-fiction and textbooks). The last component of the course will involve incorporating free tools to create interactive reading books, textbooks, magazines, posters and pamphlets.
