EDU 945 "Doing History" Digitally
“Doing history” is a social studies pedagogical method that asks students not only to think about history, but to replicate the conditions and means under which histories are made. This class examines interactive tech tools that will aid social science teachers in “doing history” and understanding the processes that make history happen.
This course will analyze 21st century media sources for historical accuracy and educational value. Participants will gain an understanding of the effects of technological change on the study of history and will collect, visualize, and analyze historical data in order to develop activities that guide students through authentic historical processes.
