Virtualizing the Library

EDU 933

Eduspire’s courses are offered by Wilson College as graduate-level courses, and most courses can also be taken as part of the Master of Educational Technology (MET) degree program.

Instructs K-12 librarians to be responsive to digital shifts in education. Examines platforms, entry points and services to grow and sustain digital environment libraries. Focuses on assessing each school’s unique needs and designing online library environments unique to the structure of individual educational systems.

Is your school moving toward 1:1 or a BYOD program? How will your school library continue to meet the needs of all learners in changing environments? What shifts will be necessary for establishing and maintaining a vibrant online library environment?

This course offers a quick start guide for K-12 Librarians whose schools are making digital shifts as well as those who want to extend the current reach of their libraries to better serve learners. Portals for housing library resources, instruction and services will be explored and developed in this practical course along with ways to gain and sustain administrative support for ongoing growth. Participants will come away with ready-to-go online spaces tailored to their schools' unique needs.

This entire course is conducted online. There will be two OPTIONAL Google Hangout meetings for participants who would like to discuss topics in an online, face-to-face setting.
