English Language Learners

Tech with ELL

EDU 950

Eduspire’s courses are offered by Wilson College as graduate-level courses, and most courses can also be taken as part of the Master of Educational Technology (MET) degree program.

This course addresses the use of technology to enhance language acquisition across the curriculum for English Learners (ELs). Background knowledge of various types of English Learners is presented to help give all teachers a better perspective of this diverse group. Curated websites and technology tools equip teachers to better personalize learning and prepare lesson adaptations for ELs at their appropriate grade level and English Language Proficiency (ELP). Teachers leave the course with their own technology toolbox for teaching and assessing not only ELs, but all students.

[Formerly titled Technology Toolbox for English Language Learners]

This course provides a general overview of technology tools and instructional strategies to use with English Learners. It exposes participants to a wide variety of strategies used to assess the language proficiency of ELs at K-12 levels and presents abundant approaches to supporting students during instruction.
