EDU 934 Digital Information Fluency
Understanding how to manage digital information is a requisite skill for educators of all kinds. Recognizing information needs, locating and evaluating appropriate resources and using digital resources ethically and effectively ensures that teachers can, in turn, nurture these critical skills in their learners.
Information fluency (locating, accessing, evaluating, curating, sharing and ethically using digital media) is a critical skill set needed in both students and teachers working in digital learning environments. This course fosters the development and refinement of these skills with practical and relevant activities for discovery and evaluation of digital resources (both traditional and user-generated), including essential resources and tools for judging the reliability of information, leveraging social media, and digital curation for professional workflow and sharing of resources.
*Participants in this course will have a mandatory, synchronous, video conference session. The date and time are listed on each course registration page.

ALL of the assignments were very beneficial and applicable to my teaching/learning practices. I learned and was exposed to so many resources I never knew existed and/or never had the time to explore. The professor was extremely helpful, very responsive, and all expectations and assingments were very clear, organized and effective. I am going to be doing a presentation/demo on all the resources we covered on my Opening Day for other teachers. I am also going to share with them that this was my 4th Eduspire class, 2 on-line and 2 in person, and that they have all been extremely informative, applicable and relevant!!!
